SUMMARY & OBJECTIVE:

The Lead Hardware Engineer is responsible for Electrical Engineering and for Project Execution.

The Engineer is responsible for new product introduction and development. The Lead Hardware Engineer will spearhead hardware engineering projects from the initial customer proposal, through the production launch, for the commercial and industrial markets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Responsible for work preparation, calculation, and planning of the work within your team
  • In the advisory phase, you coordinate with the client manager and together you come up with appropriate advice for our customers
  • With the customer, you hold the Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test Certifications
  • Ensure that the project is delivered on time
  • During the assembly period, you are the point of contact for the technician
  • You ensure that all materials are onsite on time. Your workplace is at our office in Alpharetta, Georgia, but you are also regularly at the customer’s facility.
  • Work with electronic suppliers and development partners in the management of outside design & manufacturing activities
  • Handle multiple projects and priorities, with the ability to switch focus as priorities change
  • Work with marketing, project managers and other team members to develop specifications for products from customer requirements
  • Coordinate activities with other functional areas, suppliers, contractors, and consultants
  • Experience with building prototypes and bring up hardware
  • Ability to contribute technically while managing the task and providing direction for a team
  • Ability to manage design controls, develop and define requirements, as well as testing protocols

COMPETENCIES:

  • Experience in designing products to meet UL safety requirements and working with UL for certification
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering disciplines
  • Experience with firmware development, hardware bring-up an BSP development
  • Extensive experience with schematic capture and layout tools
  • Accurate, practical, flexible, but above all, a real team player
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new assignments is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in electronics product design
  • Knowledge of electrotechnical drawing package EPlan and possibly AutoCAD
  • Worked with calculation methods and capable to make calculations
  • Sufficient general knowledge of instrumentation, power supplies and controls for industrial applications.
