SUMMARY & OBJECTIVE:
The Field Service Engineer is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, testing and commissioning complex automation systems, as well as examining automation and drives. The Field Service Engineer also operates all necessary types of software and equipment.
- Basic knowledge of either VFDs and/or automation systems
- PLC programming
- Analyzes and interprets data
- Hands on experience with Electrical installation
- Ability and desire to self/guided learn new concepts and skills quickly
- Ability to conceptualize and implement the design of complex mechanisms
- Receives and follows direction
- Reports progress and status
- Completes assigned tasks on time
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides support in training customers to maintain equipment
- Documents job activities through written reports
- Ability to service and commission systems
- Evaluates, selects and applies standard technical methods, processes and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications
- Responsible for own work, either as a member of a team or independently, and provide work direction to technicians or associate engineers on projects or service calls
- Maintains a good relationship with the customers, looks for additional opportunities for the company

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and minimum 2-4 years pertinent experience as well as experience in
servicing, commissioning industrial equipment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position is exempt and you may train/lead technicians.
TRAVEL:
Up to 80-90% travel may be expected. Ability to adapt quickly to new assignments is required.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
Generally, this is a first shift position. Based on customer requirements hours of operation may vary, 2nd or 3rd shift may be necessary.
